It’s Ok to be a Mommy’s boy, or girl!

So today marks the fourth day in renewing my consecration to Our Blessed Mother. It’s been a few years since I made my consecration to Mary, otherwise known as the St. Louis De Montfort True Devotion to Mary Consecration. If you don’t know what it is, I would definitely encourage you to learn more about this Marian consecration and do it! Basically, the consecration is a 33-day prayer where you are giving your life totally to Jesus through the hands of His Mother. It’s totally awesome and it will change your life!

Even if you haven’t done your consecration yet, I want to stress to you how important a relationship with Mary is! We can’t truly know Christ unless we know His mom! I mean just think about it. Think of your girlfriend, boyfriend or best friend. Don’t you know their mom? Wasn’t it an important moment when you met their mom for the first time? I don’t think anyone would tell their friend, “I’m so happy I know you! But, It’s ok I don’t really want to meet your mom.” Yeah, that would just be rude. The whole reason it’s so important to meet someone’s mom is because they are a huge part of the person’s life- they brought them into this world and raised them!

This same concept applies to Jesus! Mary raised Jesus, she helped shape the man He grew up to be! When we say yes to getting to know Her, we are also telling Jesus that we want to know him more, on a deeper level. When we choose to build a relationship with Mary we allow her to bring us closer to Her Son. Not only are we deepening our relationship with Christ, but when we say Yes to Mary we are opening the door to a motherly love that surpasses any love we will ever experience. Speaking from personal experience, I can say that Our Blessed Mother has truly seen me through some tough times. I feel her presence with me always, and when the world and the people in it get me down, I can count on Her motherly affection to bring me back up. I can honestly say that she is my best friend.

Maybe you don’t have the best relationship with your mom. If you don’t, please know that you have the love of THE Blessed Mother in Heaven. She’s always there for you with open arms, waiting for you to turn to her with all your problems and Joys. Trust me, once you surrender your life to Her, be ready for one of the best, most grace-filled relationships you have ever experienced.

If you want more information about the Consecration to Mary, go visit the Catholic store “Feed My Sheep,” here in Santa Barbara. There you can find everything you’ll need.

I’m praying for you! May our Blessed Mother shower you with her graces as She brings you closer to Her Son.

Totus Tuus Maria!

Love you guys!

Christie

Trust in God "My child, when you come to serve the Lord, prepare yourself for trials. Be sincere of heart and steadfast, and do not be impetuous in time of adversity. Cling to Him, do not leave Him, that you may prosper in your last days. Accept whatever happens to you; in periods of humiliation be patient, FOR IN FIRE GOLD IS TESTED, and the chosen, in the crucible of humiliation. Trust in God, and He will help you; make straight your ways and hope in Him." -Sirach 2:1-6
